Hi again, Stavros - no NAT traversal Mark - the PABX is a Panasonic NCP500. The remote phones are cordless SIP extensions and an IP-PT handset. The RB2011's are running 6.17. Howdy all, I have just installed a site to site ipsec tunnel as per the example on the Tik wiki. At one end I have a PBX that has it's own proprietary IP protocol (RTP based) and also has SIP extensions. The remote extensions connect over the ipsec tunnel to the PBX (routed, not bridged). All works well basically, except that on two occasions during testing, I lost voice completely at the non-PBX end for about 5-10 seconds, after which it restored by itself. The other end could hear me fine but I could not hear anything. I was able to look at the LCD (there is a RB2011UAS at each end) when this occurred and I could see a drop in the receive data down to zero while the transmit was still at around 100kbps. I have not configured any QoS at this stage. Keep in mind that pretty much nothing else was using the tunnel at the time. The WAN link is 12/4Mbps at both ends. Mikrotik Wireless Multicasting

Hi I am trying to stream VLC from a wireless client to multiple other wireless clients, and also from wired to wireless and wireless to wired, but in all 3 scenarios, I don't get anything showing up on the client. Ideally I would like to be able to go from wired to wireless, but if it can only go from wireless to wireless, that will be acceptable too. Here is the network: VLC Server(192.168.25.240)--------wireless------(192.168.15.254(wired) & 192.168.25.254(wireless)) --------wireless------VLC Client (192.168.25.241) | | VLC Server(192.168.15.201)--------wired-------------------- Normally I run a PPTP VPN between the wireless clients and the Mikrotik router to ensure the other data is safe, but even without the PPTP tunnels, I can't get it to work. I have read through http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Wireless and http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Multicast_detailed_example and set the multicast helper to full, but I can't seem to work out where the issue is. Any help, or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

RB2011 not matching packets in dynamic queues

Hi guys, we have a strange issue with an RB2011 which we use as a basic LNS at a small remote site, it has stopped being able to ping the dslam that it connects to although layer 2 still works fine between the two, and whilst the config we have on it is identical to many others we have it refuses to match packets in dynamic queues which are created for the PPPOE connections which terminate on it. Even when creating simple queues manually for the PPPOE interfaces no packets get matched. I upgraded it to 6.15 initially and thought that was the issue, so I have now downgraded it to 6.11 but the problem persists. I am perplexed by this one, we have the same config running at a lot of locations and don't have issues, even with 6.15, and it's not the sort of thing I would have thought would be hardware related. Has anybody experienced this type of issue at all ? I know the next step is probably to netinstall it but as it's a production site it's hard to do rebuild like that due to downtime so I might just build up a new router and send it out as it will be a quick replacement. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Paul

Hi All, Noticed this in the changelog for 6.16: *) CCR - fixed rare file system corruption when none of configuration could be changed or some of it disappeared; something that has been experienced by at least 4 users that I am aware of (new users vanish after adding, can't write to filesystem, etc) - so it wasn't just our imagination after all ;-) Cheers, Mike.

/31 and /32 subnets

Hi guys, we are looking at ways to redesign our network a bit to be more lean on IPV4 usage as I'm sure a lot of people are probably doing, between all of our POPS and within our core network we have /30's in use as I suppose most people do, however we are starting to run low on IP's and rather than request another allocation which we could easily justify I would rather try and tidy up our network to be more efficient. I was wondering what people's experience has been with Mikrotik using /31 subnets and /32 addresses with the remote end address as the network address ? We mostly run OSPF for our network routing with some BGP on the edge routers, does anybody have any comments on things to be aware of ? Regards Paul
