I tend to observe the "fast, cheap, good" principle - choose two only (can never have all three ; ) There's 20 slots, so room to try a few options - will probably set up a few sets of different options to play with performance and (eventually) robustness assessment.... For us, it will be mostly for internal systems and development with some replicated backups - nothing that needs HA but handy to be local. There's been some talk about testing caching to remote branches (home office etc) which will make for some interesting experimentations.... Good to have something 'new' to play with! : ) (AND something 'new' to talk about ; ) Cheers! : ) -----Original Message----- From: Jason Hecker via Public <public@talk.mikrotik.com.au> Sent: Wednesday, 26 February 2025 10:17 AM To: public@talk.mikrotik.com.au Cc: Jason Hecker <jason@upandrunningtech.com.au> Subject: [MT-AU Public] Re: RDS2216 - switch hardware
One of the units arriving next month is already earmarked for our rack downstairs ; )
Neat! What will you use it for and what model of drive will you put in it? WD Red or something with power fail protection like the Micron drives? _______________________________________________ Public mailing list -- public@talk.mikrotik.com.au To unsubscribe send an email to public-leave@talk.mikrotik.com.au
